Beacon Financial Strategies was pleased to join other businesses and organizations across North Carolina for the second annual Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Day of Service.  This event was held on Friday, September 20, 2013 and offered CPAs the opportunity to give back to their communities through volunteer service with a charitable organization of their choice.

Beacon professionals worked with the Durham Rescue Mission Thrift Store organizing the store’s inventory of donated goods.

“Chip Hymiller and I are so pleased to help out the Durham Rescue Mission, an organization that has helped countless individuals and families in our community who are struggling.  It is also great feeling to, not only help this organization, but to be a part of the NCACPA day of service in which thousands of other financial professionals are joining together in this statewide volunteer effort,”  said Erin Campbell, CPA.

The Day of Service was sponsored by the North Carolina Association of CPAs. Approximately 2,200 CPAs and staff members from throughout the state participated in this year’s event. The goal of the Day of Service is to allow CPAs to show their dedication to the cities and towns in which they live and to highlight the many ways they give back to their communities on a regular basis.
